Over-functioning and perfectionism
Emotional suppression for safety
Gut-based tension when “seen”
Fatigue that no amount of sleep could fix
A core belief: “If I show too much, I’ll be rejected”
They began to track subtle body cues: fatigue, tension, tightening in the gut and science provided a safe starting point: a language they trusted.
In the meantime they started to became aware of how the perceived unconscious danger of “being known” triggered chronic gut-levels of tension and detrimental patterns of thinking and behaviour of hiding and perfectionism.
Both survival strategy rooted in early childhood conditioning.
During phase 2 one key built on the self awareness, body and emotional states tracking, unravelling unconscious limiting beliefs .
During this sessions:
Stress started to reduced even further and for longer period of time.
Body Battery increased ( tracked by their Garmin, when it “should have” gone down)
Their nervous system is not fighting anymore. It is listening and collaborating.
This new relaxed nervous system gave space to the brain to start to rewire and build neuropathways of "safety" and "self empowerment".
Instead of banishing the gut tension, they thanked it as a clever protective mechanism rather then a liability.
The body responded with softening and release.
They moved from suppression to understanding.
Shame gave way to softness.
The gut tension, once a symbol of danger, softened with gratitude.
They discovered safety could be felt, not just intellectualised.
This was about building on the self awareness and becoming to leading from wholeness.
With their nervous system regulated and inner patterns no longer in control, the client began to operate from a deeper internal source ,not effort, not perfectionism, but presence.
They started to:
Deliver high-stakes presentations from an embodied, grounded place
Navigate relational feedback without collapse or shame
Recognise that ease and clarity could co-exist with impact
Approach leadership as relational and intuitive, not performative
They didn’t just feel better. They became more themselves.
Their gut softened not just metaphorically, but physiologically.
They could pause without spiralling.
They allowed visibility without panic.
Their voice became steadier.
They stopped performing. They started leading.
This wasn’t about mindset. It was about the body finally feeling safe.
